Kinokuniya Sydney – For your chance to WIN a double pass to the film and the Q&A session with Masahiro Motoki and Miw...
Masahiro Motoki, star of the Oscar-winning Japanese film DEPARTURES, and director Miwa Nishikawa, a student of auteur Hirokazu Kore-eda, will grace this year's JFF for the closing film, THE LONG EXCUSE.
When celebrity author Sachio's wife dies in a bus accident, Sachio is in bed with a younger woman. Forced to play the role of a grieving widower in front of media, he is more shocked by his emotional disconnect to her death. THE LONG EXCUSE is a touching drama about transformation, prompted by empathy and death.
