Maitland Markets – Thank you for contacting us in relation to the sale of animals at the Maitland markets
Thank you for contacting us in relation to the sale of animals at the Maitland markets. Customer feedback keeps us aware of consumer opinions and helps us to help and improve all those small businesses that operate from within our market.
I have spoken today with Rachel from the RSPCA head office in charge of the Inspectorate for the Cruelty to Animals. The Inspectorate plays a vital role within the RSPCA. Seeking their advice and assisting in maintaining their presence at the Maitland Markets is essential in providing continuity of animal welfare services to the community. Maitland Markets is committed to working cooperatively in helping those animals in need, with the RSPCA state-based Inspectorate services.
Maitland Market management has invited the RSPCA Inspectorate to attend the next and future markets to work with the stall holders selling animals, to educate and advise them on appropriate animal care.
RSPCA Inspectors have a range of powers to enforce animal welfare law and investigate animal cruelty offences and we thank you for caring enough to tell us of your concerns.
