We’ve recently commenced sending SMS notifications to customers over the age of 60 to inform them they may be eligible for the QLD Government electricity rebate. Some recipients of the SMS have expressed their concern that the message could be a scam. We understand, scammers have been hard at it this year and appreciate that if you’re in doubt – don’t click on that link!

In this particular case, we can confirm, these messages have been initiated by us. To put your mind at ease, we’ll never ask for your personal banking or financial details by SMS or email. These are interactions that should only happen by logging into our secure My Account platform or calling 13 10 46.

If you would like to apply and check your eligibility for the rebate, simply register or login at ergon.com.au/myaccount
• Select the ‘Help and Support’ option.
• Click on ‘Electricity Rebate’.
• Then select ‘Apply’ and follow the prompts.

It’s that simple!
