The local TV and newspaper pestered us for days to make some kind of announcement.
We haven't published anything because there's a criminal investigation in progress that we didn't want to jeopardise. We've been in the dark... really in the dark with this break-in.
Anything else you'd like to know, you can ask Peter or Marie at the restaurant this weekend.
YES! WE'RE OPEN THIS WEEKEND!
It's been a difficult 2 weeks for us. We decided to close our doors, not knowing if we could get back up and running again. The things they did to us were specifically targeted to close us down. But we've received such nice comments and encouragement from the community, which has given us a “Little Love in Our Hearts”. Such lovely people giving us courage to reopen. We have been overwhelmed by the positive support we've been getting.
We’d like to open for a couple weeks. We can’t promise how long the door will remain open, but we’ll open day by day. They may have taken everything we had, but they didn't take our heart.
We need all the support we can get from the community to help us as we try to keep trading.
As a business owner every single business starts from zero and crawl their way up. Every business has ups and downs. People who have a business know how you struggle to walk your way up. Some people don't walk the way up… some people fall. They fall for a reason. To me, those people tried to give it a go with something they love... something they want to do, and they're doing it for long time. Finally their dream comes true. They make their dream alive. That’s how it was for us, so the break-in was a big kick in the guts. We are facing a very dark time. The whole situation is very very dark. We don't know if we can survive this. Only thing I know right now, we are trying to open again. We don't know what tomorrow will bring. But I know today we will open.
So, if you’ve never tried us, this is your opportunity to come and help us and try our tasty food. We have new staff and a new chef. It's like we have just been born again and learning to crawl and walk again. I know we're going to fall down from time to time, but we’re going to get up and try to walk again.
Tapas de Vino has been open for 12 month now and during that time we've learnt a lot. We had people who didn't like us and we have people who like us a lot. But we like everyone walking in our restaurant and we serve them with our hearts. Sometime we’re short staffed, but we try to provide good service for all our lovely customers. We thank you all for coming and supporting us over the last 12 months. Show us we can do this and I know with the support of the community we can fight this.
Business is for sale!
If anyone is interested to have a restaurant they always wanted this is your chance to have a go. It is a beautiful place… lots of potential ideas to help you grow… nice location. Anyone would love to dream to have a restaurant in this location. I was fortunate. I made my dream a reality 12 months ago. But I'm happy to give it to someone else to create their own dreams. If anyone is interested, please contact Tannum LJ Hooker for more information or send me a private message and we can take it further.
This is probably our last few weeks we might remain open, but who knows. I'll put it into God’s hands, because if it’s His will, who knows what we can achieve. It's nearly Christmas. Let’s try to bring a little Christmas Spirit in the place. Thank you everyone for reading this message. We look forward to seeing you all again this Friday.
