Q: Are you stuck in a transitional style stage?
.
I've had two meetings and two Skype calls already this week with women who all expressed struggling with different versions of this problem. So I thought I’d share what I’ve learnt over the years from working with so many women about the stages of style...
.
FYI - by “transitional” style I mean -
.
▪️when you’re moving between ages (30s-40s, 40s-50s, 50s-60s)
.
▪️you’re fluctuating between sizes (or you’ve changed sizes but won’t acknowledge it)
.
▪️you’ve had life changes (new baby, promotion, retired, student to full time, change in industry etc).
.
All these aspects (and many others) can affect how you feel and your identity. And that can affect your style.
.
Women usually respond in one of three ways.
1. Denial and/or apathy
2. Reactionary shopping (try anything to see what works, or buy what other women are wearing)
3. Seek professional help (aka stylist).
.
Does this resonate with you? Are you in a transitional style stage? If yes, it might be worth considering which approach you've been taking (denial, reactionary shopping or seeking help) - and if it's not working - try something else.
.
What you wear impacts you more than you might realise. Send me a message if you're want to chat about some solutions...
.
