Applications are now open for the Gertrude Studio Program 2024 intake.

The Gertrude Studio Program is known nationally and internationally as Australia's leading incubator of professional art practice. In addition to having a generously sized studio at #GertrudeContemporary, studio artists have 3 exhibition outcomes—a funded solo exhibition at Gertrude Glasshouse during the residency tenure, and participation in the annual Gertrude Studios exhibition at Gertrude Contemporary across both years. During the residency, Gertrude facilitates opportunities with leading artists and curators from Australia and overseas, promotional advocacy, remunerated educational and public program opportunities, and support from Gertrude staff.

Gertrude offers a fully-subsidised studio for a First Nations artist. Applications for the fully-subsidised studio will be assessed and outcomes determined by a panel led by First Nations arts industry peers.

Gertrude invites applications from artists of any generation and working in any medium to express their interest in the two-year program, and encourages applications from First Nations people, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

We look forward to seeing your application.
