We are very conscious of our environmental footprint at Earthy Eats. This begins with reducing waste influx, by choosing our suppliers, products and packaging carefully, ensuring our procedures are efficient and that the waste we do make, gets carefully separated and recycled or composted where possible.
Our award today was presented in recognition of our 'worming-out-of-waste' project in partnership with Zion Gardens, who produce much of the beautiful chemical free produce you see in our salad bar, juice bar and green grocer.
This project sees all of our green waste diverted from landfill and fed into Zion's worm farm. The 'worm juice' produced acts as a fantastic natural fertiliser, allowing Zion Gardens to produce the highest quality local produce, which, we then buy back from them. A beautiful cycle, the way nature intended.
This project is a great example of turning waste into a usable product. You can find Zion Gardens' beautiful chemical free produce in our green grocer @19 Kingsway and Zion Worms are also available for sale by the kilogram to increase the health of your vegie garden!
