Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange:

DOW - DOWNER EDI - up 18 cents, or 3.2 per cent, at $5.85
Engineering group Downer EDI has won a $1.7 billion contract from Transport for NSW for design and maintenance of 24 double-decker trains and their maintenance for 25 years.

NUF - NUFARM - up 25 cents, or 2.9 per cent, at $8.79
Nufarm is slated to hold its annual general meeting in Melbourne today

ORL - OROTON - steady, at $2.35
Luxury accessories retailer Oroton says its comparable store sales were down eight per cent for the first 17 weeks of the 2017 financial year.

OSH - OIL SEARCH - up 61 cents, or 9.5 per cent, at $7.06

STO - SANTOS - up 47.5 cents, or 12.1 per cent, at $4.405

WPL - WOODSIDE PETROLEUM - up $1.76 or 5.9 per cent, at $31.38
Oil prices surge to be 10 per cent higher at one point, before pulling back to be around eight per cent higher, as OPEC members say they have agreed to cut output.

VOC - VOCUS COMMUNICATIONS - down 9 cents, or 2.2 per cent, at $4.08
Vocus Communications is selling the remaining 50 per cent of the Connect 8 fibre construction business to joint venture partner Spark New Zealand for an unspecified sum.

VRT - VIRTUS HEALTH - up 11 cents, or 1.9 per cent, at $5.87
Fertility clinic operator Virtus Health has acquired a clinic in Denmark as it strives to expand its network in Europe and Asia.
